Job Description:
The Construction Electrical Engineer II is responsible for planning and executing procedures, as well as providing technical support for construction and commissioning activities of CCGT projects. This role involves working under the guidance of the Manager, Electrical Technical Support, or Section Team Leader to coordinate activities with Engineering, Technical Field Advisors, Vendors, and Contractors at the site.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate internally with site managers, suppliers, and engineering teams to resolve issues.
- Manage moderately complex site issues independently, such as resolving minor construction deviations or coordinating supplier clarifications.
- Plan construction support activities for specific systems, ensuring integration with the project schedule.
- Ensure compliance of construction operations with federal, state, and local codes, industry standards, company procedures, and contractual requirements.
- Gather approved documents and information to support the successful completion of construction activities.
- Create erection and commissioning procedures for Gas Turbine and auxiliary system installations.
- Promote and adhere to safe work practices.
- Provide timely solutions for Project Action Requests (PAR), involving quality, project/process/design engineering, suppliers, Field TFA team, and supply chain.
- Examine drawings for completeness, detail, and accuracy as a peer reviewer.
- Participate in a work environment fostering openness, trust, communication, teamwork, innovation, and satisfaction.
- Coordinate with site teams, suppliers, quality teams, and contractors for proper installation and commissioning of power plant electrical systems.
Essential Skills:
- 3-7 years of design or commissioning experience with power plant equipment.
- Familiarity with AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulators), SFC, Relay Protection, and excitors.
- Experience with switchgear, gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, circuit breakers, electrical design, and commissioning.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of power plant equipment such as pumps, condensers, cooling towers, rotating equipment, turbines, material handling, water treatment, valves, and heat exchangers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience with Combined Cycle Power Plant Equipment.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
- International experience is desirable.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineered drawings and technical documents.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and electronic mail.
Work Environment:
Primarily working in the Lake Mary office, with the possibility of traveling to sites both domestically and internationally up to 20% a year. The work environment fosters a culture of openness, trust, and communication.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake Mary, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $41.00 - $50.00/hr.
