Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous Laboratory Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, identifying, and preparing various samples for analyses. You will set up, maintain, and operate different types of laboratory equipment and instruments. Your role will involve performing analyses using hazardous chemicals and prescribed procedures to determine the quality of product samples. Additionally, you will be tasked with performing calculations, reviewing data for accuracy, preparing reports, maintaining database records, and other job-related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Collect, identify, and prepare various samples for analyses.
- Set up, maintain, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Perform analyses using hazardous chemicals according to prescribed procedures.
- Determine the quality of product samples.
- Perform calculations and review data for accuracy.
- Prepare reports and maintain database records.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Chemistry, Biology, and Environmental Science.
- Experience in analytical and wet chemistry.
- 1-2 years of entry-level laboratory work experience.
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite and effective communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Associate's Degree in Chemistry or Science is a plus.
- A passion for chemistry, science, and testing.
- Ability to distinguish varying colors, patterns, or materials.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Work Environment
The work environment is primarily indoors, maintaining a consistent temperature, although there may be occasional short exposure to outdoor elements in varying degrees of hot and cold environments. The role requires the ability to lift approximately 0-25 lbs unassisted, and the ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required. The role requires fine hand motor skills, the ability to travel unassisted, and the ability to safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of oneself or others.
