Job Title: Clinical Research Specialist (Oncology)
Job Description
The Clinical Research Specialist plays a crucial role within the Research Institute, overseeing the conduct of industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials. This role ensures compliance with trial protocols, FDA regulations, and ICH/GCP guidelines. The specialist acts as a clinical study coordinator when necessary and is responsible for training, mentoring, and developing clinical study coordinators and research staff across various U.S. Division locations.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day supervision and performance reviews of clinical research staff.
- Lead the Talent Acquisition process, including applicant review and selection.
- Supervise the clinical research team's daily activities, ensuring productivity and appropriate staffing schedules.
- Deliver and supervise safe patient care, maintaining dignity and respect for all patients/participants.
- Act as a service line expert and resource for the research team, addressing operational barriers.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality and safety of clinical operations in the assigned area.
- Foster supportive relationships with team members through regular interactions.
- Collaborate with various managers and partners to ensure a smooth transition to assigned coordinators and maintain operational efficiency.
- Manage inventory levels, equipment orders, and maintenance of medical tools and supplies.
- Develop and maintain SOPs and Work Instructions under the direction of the Clinical Research Operations Manager.
- Provide education, training, and mentorship to promote growth for study team members.
- Coordinate and manage clinical research study activities based on departmental needs.
- Support the preceptorship of new team members, monitoring their progress and communicating with the Operational Manager.

- Understanding of clinical trials
- Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Research, or related field with 2 years of clinical research experience
- Associates degree in Healthcare Administration, Research, or related field with 4 years of clinical research experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
