Job Title: Senior CAD Designer
Job Description

We are seeking a Senior CAD Designer to join a collaborative team in Orlando. This individual will play a key role in planning and designing civil engineering projects for both federal and private land development. The position offers the chance to work with a passionate team of civil engineers on exciting and meaningful projects across various market sectors.


Responsibilities
  • Effectively use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data for project planning and design.
  • Prepare planning and design documents for civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects in collaboration with Project Engineers using engineering and design software like AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Conduct zoning and feasibility assessments for development projects.
  • Perform field inspection services as needed.
  • Write and/or review draft reports, including feasibility studies, stormwater management reports, technical specifications, and utility reports.
  • Interact professionally with client and subcontractor representatives in collaboration with a supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
  • Permitting and Site/Civil Design experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in site/civil design, including site planning, grading, stormwater management, drainage, and soil erosion.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Engineering Sciences, enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program with a focus on Civil Engineering, or demonstrated equivalent knowledge.
  • Extensive AutoCAD/Civil 3D training.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal land use permitting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Possess reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
Work Environment

The position is primarily office-based with flexibility and is located in Orlando (Lake Nona). There will be collaboration with internal teams and external clients, and occasional travel for client meetings and site visits is required.


Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Orlando, Florida.
