Job Description
This role involves performing plumbing installation and related work on a new four-story educational building. You will work primarily with cast iron and copper piping systems, supporting the construction and mechanical installation of plumbing infrastructure from rough-in through final install. The position requires strong construction plumbing experience, the ability to read and work from blueprints, and a commitment to working safely on an active job site.
Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and repair plumbing systems and fixtures in a new four-story educational building.
- Work with cast iron, copper, PVC, and other piping materials to complete rough-in and finish plumbing installations.
- Interpret and follow construction blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate layout and installation of piping and fixtures.
- Measure, cut, thread, bend, and fit pipes using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Perform brazing and soldering on copper piping where required to ensure secure and leak-free joints.
- Install and secure piping, valves, hangers, supports, and related mechanical components in accordance with project requirements and codes.
- Collaborate with other trades on site to coordinate installation sequences and avoid conflicts with structural, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Inspect completed work for quality, functionality, and compliance with safety and construction standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and materials are stored safely and properly.
- Follow all site safety procedures, including the use of required PPE, and report any hazards or incidents to site supervision.
- Support and guide plumbing helpers as needed, sharing best practices and promoting safe work habits.
- Adapt to working both indoors and outdoors and adjust work methods to changing site and weather conditions.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a plumber on construction projects; minimum of 1 year of experience for plumbing helpers.
- Commercial Experience in construction plumbing, including installation of piping systems in new builds.
- Ability to read, understand, and work from blueprints and construction drawings.
- Proficiency in working with cast iron, copper, and PVC piping systems.
- Ability to perform mechanical piping installation, including layout, measuring, cutting, and fitting.
- Experience with installation of plumbing systems and fixtures in multi-story buildings.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and using required personal protective equipment at all times.
- Ability to work full-time, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
This is a Permanent position based out of Orlando, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
