Job Title: Phlebotomist

We are seeking a skilled phlebotomist to join a dynamic team at a nationally recognized hospital lab. The role involves performing blood draws, labeling, centrifuging specimens, and recording data while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

• Perform venipuncture and other specimen collection techniques, including urine and fecal samples.
• Demonstrate proficiency in straight needles and butterfly needles techniques.
• Understand and execute lab orders, physician orders, and blood work orders accurately.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test protocols.
• Accurately label and place samples in appropriate collection containers or tubes.
• Follow procedures specific to protocol for specimen transport to maintain integrity.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Update patient information and ensure decontamination protocols are followed.

• Phlebotomy expertise with proficiency in blood draws and venipuncture.
• Experience with specimen processing.
• Knowledge and experience in working with pediatric, oncology, and geriatric patients.
• Familiarity with vacutainer systems.

• 1+ year of phlebotomy experience in a medical diagnostic lab or hospital laboratory setting.
• Proficiency in venipunctures within a lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED.

This is a Contract position based out of Ocala, Florida.
