Job Description
The Back Office Medical Assistant Floater will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician, focusing on both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. The role supports clinicians and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating patient populations. This position involves performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. The floater will work in various offices, supporting either in the Medical Assistant role or dedicated lab duties.
Responsibilities
- Perform team-based patient care under clinician supervision.
- Support chronic disease management, examination, and treatment of patients.
- Conduct laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.
- Float between different office locations as required.
- Communicate effectively with patients, employees, and the public.
- Assess emergencies and respond accordingly.
- Medical assisting experience.
- Phlebotomy skills.
- Ability to take vitals, with manual vitals preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory quality control requirements.
- Understanding of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices.
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
- High School diploma required.
- Medical Assistant diploma OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR 3 years of Medical Assistant experience.
- Active BLS certification.
- Active driver's license.
- Flexibility to adjust to a changing work environment.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Experience with TriMed EMR is preferred.
This is a 100% onsite role, operating Monday to Friday from 7:45 am to 5:00 pm, with every other Saturday from 7:45 am to 12:00 pm. The position involves floating across various locations, including Pembroke Pines, Weston, Chapel Trail, and Miramar. Week 1 consists of 43.75 hours, and Week 2 involves 48 hours. A permanent opportunity with travel compensation of $0.67/mile between clinics. If floating outside of core locations, a $20 gas card will be provided. Training on manual vitals is available.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30000.00 - $40000.00/yr.
