Job Description
We are seeking a Civil Structural Engineer who is dedicated to providing exceptional professional service while embracing a strong team environment. They should enjoy project variety and problem-solving while accepting ownership and responsibility for assigned projects and tasks. Opportunities for professional growth and advancement abound in this role, though travel and fieldwork may be required for some projects.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage scope, schedule, and budget for assigned projects.
- Independently perform detailed calculations for moderate to complex analyses and structural systems.
- Lead and coordinate with other project team members to ensure successful completion of small to midsize projects.
- Assist with mentoring less experienced engineers.
- Perform site visits, collect field data, conduct research and investigations, and prepare reports.
- Review contractor submittals during construction for conformance to construction document requirements.
- Assist with the preparation of construction cost estimates.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 0-3+ years of experience in the design of structural components and systems (industrial, marine, etc.).
- Competence in the design of structural steel systems and components.
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Self-starter and results-oriented.
- Valid driver's license in the US.
- Ability to travel periodically.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Currently licensed as a PE or SE.
- structural design experience.
- Experience with the design of wood/timber, concrete, and masonry.
- 1+ years of building design experience.
- Competency in using Risa 3D or Ram Elements.
- Competency in using Revit.
Work Environment
The role is based in a small, unique engineering firm that is in growth mode and boasts a tremendous backlog of work from both the marine and federal industries. The firm supports the department of national parks and undertakes very unique projects. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pensacola, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.46 - $65.00/hr.
