Automation Test Engineer L1 & L2


Job Description

Join our connected vehicle technologies group to contribute to testing vehicle customer experience across data, smartphones, and Web Services. This role is ideal for someone passionate about providing engineering support services related to Over the Air (OTA) software testing and automation services. You will be involved in both manual and automation software testing for cutting-edge automotive, infotainment, and connectivity technologies.


Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and execute test plans, scenarios, and test cases based on project requirements and specifications.
  • Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring accurate reporting and resolution.
  • Configure and maintain test environments, including hardware, software, and network components.
  • Prepare and manage test data, ensuring it is accurate, dependable, and appropriate for testing.
  • Generate and maintain detailed test reports, documenting test results and assisting in automating test processes and developing automated test scripts.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders for gathering test plans including test cases, use cases, directives.
  • Follow guidelines for developing test automation scripts.
  • Leverage the automation framework and use Python scripts for automation.
  • Create and share summary reports of test results via email and/or tool such as Test Rail.
  • Investigate all reported valid failures (defects), re-create failures as recommended to provide additional details related to the failures including logs and verify regression testing.

Essential Skills

  • 1-3 years experience in Python, Automation, Selenium, and manual testing techniques.
  • Experience with test planning and defect reporting.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and tools such as JIRA.
  • Understanding of automotive communication technologies such as CAN bus or embedded systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Computer, or similar field).
  • Experience with SW testing and using tools like Test Rail and Atlassian Jira is preferred.
  • Familiarity with communication technologies like CAN, LIN, Ethernet is a plus
