Job Title: Assistant Project Manager


Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Project Manager to join our team in Tallahassee. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile projects, including those at Tyndall Air Force Base, with the potential for significant professional growth and involvement in the strategic expansion of our Tallahassee office.


Responsibilities

  • Manage a small project or one phase of a large project under direct supervision.
  • Implement an established project plan and ensure timely execution.
  • Identify, resolve, or escalate operational problems to minimize delays.
  • Perform field testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt, and conduct inspections related to threshold.
  • Lead safety efforts, including preparation and compliance with approved safety plans.
  • Analyze project requirements, perform calculations, write reports, and complete deliverables.
  • Coordinate activities of outside contractors to ensure satisfactory service standards.
  • Estimate costs, resources, and time required for project phases and monitor activities.
  • Conduct project meetings and prepare regular reports to communicate project status.
  • Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet targets and milestones.
  • Submit project deliverables to clients as per contract scope and schedule.
  • Ensure work is delivered within approved budget and oversee reviews at critical junctures.
  • Develop understanding of project-related risks and familiarize with company risk policies.
  • Lead safety efforts for the team and promote a safe work environment.

Essential Skills

  • Civil Engineering Degree.
  • Experience or readiness to perform threshold inspections.
  • Actively pursuing Professional Engineer (P/E) certification.
  • ICC certifications in soils and reinforced concrete.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Project management skills.
  • Construction experience.
  • Ability to travel, especially for projects at Tyndall Air Force Base.

Work Environment

The position involves both office and field environments. Travel will primarily occur along the I10 corridor between Pensacola and Tallahassee, with a focus on Panama City and Pensacola projects. The role offers a flexible location, with candidates from Pensacola or Panama City encouraged to apply if willing to commute.
