Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to join our team, providing construction management and general contracting services throughout the United States. As a part of an ENR Top 400 Contractor, you will contribute to projects that span various sectors including healthcare, education, industrial, commercial, and more. This position offers a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to work on significant projects across the country.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and communicate project schedules to plan upcoming activities and ensure the project stays on target.
- Coordinate daily activities for all subcontractors at any stage of construction, ensuring completion in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
- Manage construction budgets set by the Project Manager, track construction costs, and submit all invoices to Accounting promptly.
- Prepare detailed daily log reports for site conditions, manpower, and activities.
- Ensure all parties follow safety procedures according to OSHA and company requirements.
- Conduct pre-installation safety evaluations and action plans with contractors.
- Ensure appropriate machinery and tools are available and in proper working order.
- Schedule and participate in necessary inspections required by local and state regulations, organizing final inspections for completed work.
- Monitor daily construction procedures to ensure proper quality is achieved.
- Maintain consistent daily communication with project management staff to keep all parties informed of project status and potential issues.
- Respond to onsite incidents and emergencies as per company procedures.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of five years of construction supervisory experience in commercial construction.
- Solid background in civil/grading work, concrete foundations, tilt walls, elevated slabs, and masonry.
- Advanced knowledge of trades including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drywall, and finish trades.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, contracts, and specifications.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and enforcement.
- Experience scheduling work, materials, manpower, subcontractors, and equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Prior experience with scheduling software is a plus.
- Five or more years of ground-up commercial construction experience.
- Strong comprehension of concrete steel drawings/reinforcement.
- Understanding of crane work and relevant certifications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Project values of $14 million or greater are desirable.
- Experience with building storage facilities or medical facilities.
Work Environment
The role involves working on commercial construction job sites throughout the country, focusing on large self-storage facilities and some medical facilities. The work environment is dynamic and requires adaptability to various site conditions and project types. The dress code is typical for construction sites, ensuring safety and functionality.
