Job Description
The Pharmacy Clerk plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient pharmacy operations by performing data entry and handling phone communications with members and providers. The role involves providing members with decisions on prior authorizations, whether approved, denied, or requiring additional information. It is a production-driven environment, emphasizing continuous adherence to schedules and performance goals.
Responsibilities
- Perform pharmacy data entry using two screens.
- Handle phone calls to members and providers regarding prior authorization decisions.
- Assist staff in maintaining proper workflow and meeting time-sensitive deadlines within the pharmacy department.
Essential Skills
- Experience in pharmacy operations.
- Proficiency in data entry.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Customer service experience.
- Administrative support skills.
- Printer support, printing, and faxing capabilities.
- Order entry experience.
- Exposure to health care environments.
