Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Fire Sprinkler Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. This role is crucial in safeguarding lives and property by ensuring that fire sprinkler systems are functioning correctly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes.
- Identify and report any deficiencies or malfunctions in the fire sprinkler systems.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on fire sprinkler systems as needed.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of all inspections and maintenance activities.
- Provide recommendations for system improvements and upgrades.
- Collaborate with building owners, property managers, and other stakeholders to ensure fire safety compliance.
- Stay updated on the latest fire safety regulations and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in fire protection technology is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in fire sprinkler inspection or a related field.
- Knowledge of NFPA standards and local fire codes.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Experience:
- NICET certification in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems.
- Experience with fire alarm systems and other fire protection equipment.
- Familiarity with electronic inspection reporting software.
- Must have one (1) or more years of experience inspecting fire alarm products, wet fire sprinkler systems or industry-related experience.
- Must be proficient in the use and application of personal computers.
- Must have a working knowledge of test equipment, such as multimeters, battery analyzers and decibel meters.
- Must be familiar with fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems.
- Required to have a full understanding of NFPA 72 and NFPA 25 with the ability to discern basic deficiencies in the system being inspected.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint, schematics, diagrams, policies, procedures, etc. as presented in English
