Job Title: PET/CT TechnologistJob Description

The PET/CT Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic PET and CT imaging, while ensuring exceptional patient care and strict compliance with ALARA and regulatory guidelines. This role includes administering radiopharmaceuticals under physician direction, performing radiation dose calculations, and operating PET/CT scanners to produce diagnostic images.

Responsibilities
  • Perform quality control checks, maintain, and calibrate radiology equipment.
  • Handle radioactive materials safely and navigate EMR/PACS systems.
  • Obtain patient histories and position patients for accurate imaging.
  • Start and discontinue IVs and administer iodinated contrast.
  • Support patients throughout the imaging process.
  • Participate in continuous education and training programs to maintain clinical competency.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in PET imaging and CT imaging.
  • Ability to administer radiopharmaceuticals and operate nuclear medicine equipment.
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) with required state licensure.
  • Obtain ARRT(CT) or NMTCB(CT) certification within the required timeframe.
  • Experience performing PET/CT exams with proper protocols.
  • Strong competency in CT scanning, including contrast administration.
  • Ability to perform radiation dosage calculations and maintain safety standards.
  • Skill in patient care, positioning, and procedure explanation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Oncology imaging experience.
  • Experience with advanced PET protocols.
  • Experience in both Nuclear Medicine and CT environments.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific EMR/PACS systems.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program.
  • State CRT license and BLS Certification.
  • Experience in Nuclear Medicine and CT is preferred.
  • PET/CT oncology imaging experience is preferred.
  • Completed Nuclear Medicine Technology training is preferred.
Work Environment

The technologist will work in a clinical imaging environment with standard clinical hours and potential for rotating schedules depending on patient volume. This role is onsite, patient-facing, and requires adherence to safety and clinical procedures. The position provides the opportunity to work with modern PET/CT imaging technology and contribute directly to accurate diagnosis and patient care. The work environment emphasizes safety, patient experience, and provides opportunities for growth through ongoing training and education.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of West Palm Beach, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40000.00 - $50000.00/yr.
