Job Description
The Maintenance Technician works independently to perform facility and production equipment maintenance for a plastics manufacturing operation. This role focuses on maintaining machinery, completing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plastics processing equipment such as injection mold, blow mold, and extrusion systems.
Responsibilities
- Independently perform maintenance tasks on facility and production machinery in a plastics manufacturing environment.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance (PMs) on equipment to minimize downtime and extend machine life.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on production equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with injection molding, blow molding, and extrusion machinery.
- Inspect machinery and equipment to identify potential problems and take corrective action before failures occur.
- Use electrical skills to safely identify, troubleshoot, and repair electrical issues on industrial equipment.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used in accordance with facility procedures.
- Collaborate with production personnel to understand equipment issues and prioritize maintenance tasks.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area in an industrial environment.
- At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Strong experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing industrial machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- Electrical skills for diagnosing and repairing electrical issues on industrial equipment.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance on a wide range of production machinery.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage maintenance tasks effectively.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for complex equipment issues.
- Plastics manufacturing experience, particularly with injection molding, blow molding, or extrusion equipment, is preferred.
- Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing facility.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with production and maintenance team members.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to established procedures and guidelines.

Work Environment
This position is based in an industrial plastics manufacturing facility operating on a day shift schedule. You will work around production machinery such as injection molding, blow molding, and extrusion equipment, using a variety of mechanical and electrical tools to perform maintenance and repairs. The environment is hands-on and equipment-focused, with an emphasis on safety, organization, and adherence to industrial work practices.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $66560.00/yr.
