Job Title: Distribution Field Technician


Job Description

Join our team as a Distribution Field Technician, where you will collaborate with another technician to utilize KATAPULT on site for capturing photographs of utility poles. Your work will directly support our designers by providing essential visual data, ensuring accurate project execution.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a fellow Distribution Field Technician to capture images of utility poles using KATAPULT.
  • Communicate effectively with designers to ensure photos meet data requirements.
  • Travel extensively around Georgia and neighboring states with overnight stays as needed.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including high heat, for extended periods.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and technical standards, including National Electrical Safety Codes (NESC).

Essential Skills

  • Ability to travel during weekdays with potential overnight stays.
  • Capability to work outdoors in challenging weather conditions.
  • Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and familiarity with Katapult or other reporting tools.
  • Understanding of power distribution systems and the utility industry.
  • Successful completion of MVR and drug test.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in data collection.
  • Knowledge of Joint Use and power pole staking.
  • Familiarity with IKE and previous experience with Katapult is beneficial.

Work Environment

This role involves traveling to various sites across Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and the Florida Panhandle to capture images of utility poles. Technicians typically work a four-day week, with ten-hour shifts, and are often on the road for up to four nights a week. The position offers per diem allowances for food and lodging at the Georgia rate, along with mileage reimbursement. Opportunities exist to work during storm conditions, and there is potential to receive a company vehicle for personal use. The work environment promises growth and advancement within the company, with numerous upcoming projects.
