Wide Format Experience Center Leader

POSITION PROFILE

The Advisory Engineer, Industrial Print is the technical lead for both pre- and post-sales implementation of Ricoh's solutions portfolio. This is an expert level position which requires deep expertise in integrated solutions including hardware, enablement and standalone software and services. Additionally, the AE, IP will be a subject matter expert in specific areas of the business such as ink jet wide format, direct to object, direct to film, direct to garment, and related finishing applications. The AE, IP will be required to have expertise in a variety of RIP software solution technologies.

The Application Specialist, Industrial Print is a key member to the account team and is expected to be the a trusted advisor throughout the customer life cycle. The AE, IP will be engaged early in a sales cycle to provide Proof of Concept samples, demonstrate solutions (in person and virtually), provide data to assist in creating a return on investment, and provide technical assistance/troubleshooting to the sales and professional/technical services teams. The primary focus of this role is to provide an exceptional experience for the customer and sales teams related to IP technology in the Duluth Georgia CEC (Boulder CEC as needed). The SSE is also a crucial part of the account team to achieve professional services revenue.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PRE-SALES (85% utilization)
  • Provide technical leadership for IP Wide format and related technologies
  • Support sales reps with the achievement of HW and SW revenue plans
  • Perform Print Sample requests w/ associated Ink Estimates, Profiles and Medias used
  • Perform State of Readiness account reviews for pending installations
  • Be the lead for all Solution Assurance activities involved with HW sales
  • Attend all relevant sales meetings for the IP Senior Program Manager teams and at the Duluth CEC
POST-SALE(15% utilization)
  • Provide technical assistance to field service for application testing post installation
  • Provide technical assistance to Advisory Engineers for customer training, installations, and Elite Access support
MISC
  • Responsible for performing daily maintenance required to operate equipment in the lab at optimal performance
  • Attend technical training as required and scheduled
  • Become a subject matter expert in IP Wide Format and associated Finishing technologies, including various RIP software, Hardware Operation, Ink types, Media
  • Position will have dotted line responsibility to Director, Wide Format PS Practice
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications)

Typically Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic arts or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Wide Format printing operation and/or industry related experience
  • Strong face to face customer relationships, problem solving, and objection handling skills.
  • Supports unit sales plan through pre-sales and/or post-sales technical consulting activities presenting solutions
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Must be able to work independently and be an intuitive and creative thinker
  • Proven problem analysis and resolution skills
  • Proven knowledge of sales cycle methodologies, processes, and techniques
  • Demonstrated strength in presentation skills
  • Must have proven project management experience in six or seven figure implementations
  • Knowledge of Industrial Print/Wide Format hardware, software, inks, media, and finishing
  • Must have proven track record working in Commercial Print or Corporate Inplant environments
  • Knowledge of Windows and MAC operating systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and MAC applications
  • Demonstrates ability to work with diverse teams to support account strategy
  • Strong interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
  • Competitive Product Knowledge/experience preferred, not required
  • Ability to travel as required
WORKING CONDITIONS, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • This position is in person and will report to the Duluth CEC lab daily
  • Work has cyclical stress due to monthly sales and revenue goals and deadlines. The position also has daily stress due to high pressure and real time" 24 x7" nature of the print environment.
  • Responsible for the daily management of assigned territories and objectives. Must be able to independently prioritize and address workload demands including conflict resolution and work and travel outside of normal business hours.
  • Routine Travel Required.
