Job Description
We are seeking a skilled electrical designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and analyzing electrical systems for building construction projects. You will collaborate with other engineers and disciplines using AutoCAD and REVIT, conduct design calculations, and research codes. Additionally, you will discuss design concepts with clients and write/edit system specifications.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and engineer electrical systems for building construction projects.
- Collaborate with other engineers and disciplines using AutoCAD and REVIT.
- Conduct design calculations and code research.
- Discuss design concepts with clients and write/edit system specifications.
- Participate in project interviews and ensure client satisfaction.
- Maintain project schedules and meet deadlines.
- Coordinate work with team members and cross-reference drawings with meeting notes.
- Create schematic, design development, and construction documents.
Essential Skills
- 2+ years of electrical engineering experience within building design.
- Proficiency with REVIT.
- Experience within Consulting Engineering in the MEP Field
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Experience with electrical design, construction administration, and client interaction.
- Strong communication and human relation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems and construction.
- Ability to solve complex problems and make independent judgments.
- Commitment to quality and teamwork.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering is a plus
- 2+ years of electrical building consulting experience.
Work Environment
This position offers a flexible schedule from 8am-5pm, with the option to adjust hours as needed. The role is typical hybrid, requiring 3 days in the office and 2 days remote work. Occasional site visits are required, but travel outside of the Atlanta market is minimal. The work environment includes construction sites, where personal protective equipment (such as hard hats) will be provided. The job also involves operating a vehicle to and from meetings and job sites, so a valid driver's license is required. Exposure to job site hazards is expected, and reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
