Job Title: Construction Field Technician
Job Description
The Field Technician is responsible for performing field inspections and observations for commercial construction projects. This role involves counting pile driving and assisting the pile team by collecting samples. The technician will be fully trained in the use of necessary equipment to accomplish their work.
Responsibilities
- Transport equipment, specimens, or documents to field personnel, clients, or other offices and provide physical assistance in equipment setup.
- Prepare and submit written field reports summarizing daily activities, observations, and results.
- Observe proof rolls, undercut operations, perform footing inspections with dynamic cone penetrometer, and inspect rebar.
- Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications.
- Interact with client representatives, including supervisors, foremen, project managers, and engineers, at project sites.
- Perform analysis or calculations to check the accuracy, applicability, and reasonableness of testing data.
- Perform sampling or testing as directed.
- Provide assistance to other field personnel.
- Clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
- Assist other technicians or professional staff with routine tasks.
- Engage in progressively increased training and responsibility in work assignments.
Essential Skills
- Experience in construction, particularly in concrete construction and materials testing.
- Knowledge in construction inspection, soil testing, and the use of dynamic cone penetrometers.
- Capability in analyzing and performing calculations for testing data accuracy.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Construction experience, preferably on the civil side.
- ACI or ICC certifications would be advantageous.

Work Environment
Field Technicians spend 90% of their time in the field, typically working 50-70 hours per week. Soil work starts at 7 AM, while concrete work begins at 8 PM. The typical workweek runs from Monday to Saturday, offering a diverse and dynamic work experience.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of LAWRENCEVILLE, GA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
