Job Description
Join a dynamic team as a Distribution Field Technician, where you will collaborate with another field technician to utilize KATAPULT on site, capturing images of utility poles for design purposes. Your work will directly support the designer in ensuring accurate data communication.
Responsibilities
- Utilize KATAPULT to capture and send images of utility poles to the designer.
- Ensure images provide accurate and comprehensive data for design purposes.
- Travel extensively during the week around Georgia, with potential overnight stays.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
Essential Skills
- Experience in the electric utility sector.
- Ability to travel and stay overnight as projects require.
- General technological proficiency, including tools like Microsoft Teams and Outlook.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with power distribution, IKE, and National Electrical Safety Codes (NESC).
- Data collection experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Joint Use, staking, and power poles.
- Experience with Katapult is beneficial.
Work Environment
This role involves extensive travel, primarily around the Georgia/Alabama border, with projects extending to Alabama, Mississippi, and the Panhandle of Florida. Expect to travel every week, with overnight stays averaging three nights but potentially extending to four. Work is conducted over a four-day work week, with ten-hour shifts each day. Employees receive per diem at the Georgia rate for food and lodging. Opportunities exist to work during storms and potentially have access to a company vehicle for commuting.
