Job Title: Concrete General Production Worker
Pay: 20hr
Shift: Mon - Fri 2am - 10:30am for the first 6 weeks. Then 4:00am - 2:30pm.
Overtime Available on Saturdays
Job Description
The General Laborer supports day-to-day production in a reinforced concrete manufacturing facility by mixing materials, preparing and maintaining molds, performing basic machine upkeep, and patching concrete pipes. This entry-level role plays a key part in the manufacturing, handling, and storage of reinforced concrete pipe and precast products in a physically demanding, indoor/outdoor environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the mixing of materials used to mold reinforced concrete products.
- Prepare, clean, and stage molds for concrete production to ensure they are ready for daily use.
- Pour concrete into forms, properly finish the surface, and safely remove concrete products from forms once cured.
- Patch and repair concrete pipes to meet quality and durability standards.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and upkeep on plant machinery and equipment as directed.
- Read and interpret a tape measure on a daily basis to ensure accurate measurements during production.
- Read and follow blueprints, drawings, or production layouts when required to support product specifications.
- Handle, move, and store reinforced concrete pipe and precast products safely within the yard and plant areas.
- Work effectively in a physically demanding role that requires standing, lifting, and moving materials throughout the shift.
- Follow all safety procedures and use required tools and equipment correctly to maintain a safe work area.
- Collaborate with the production team to meet daily and weekly production goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning tools, molds, and surrounding workspaces.
Essential Skills
- Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure on a daily basis.
- Capability to read and understand blueprints or willingness to learn basic blueprint reading.
- Previous construction or concrete experience, highly preferred for success in this role.
- Ability to stand on feet for 8 or more hours per day in a physically demanding environment.
- Comfort working with hand tools, power tools, and basic machine operating tasks.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure quality in measuring, pouring, finishing, and patching concrete.
- Reliability and dependability to consistently support daily production operations.
- Ability to work safely in a loud, dusty, and dirty plant environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience in general labor, construction, production, or general production environments.
- Familiarity with concrete materials, reinforced concrete pipe, and precast products.
- Experience using a variety of hand tools and power tools in an industrial or construction setting.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to assist with preventative maintenance of plant equipment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime, including some Fridays and Saturdays as needed.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented production environment and follow instructions from supervisors.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.

Work Environment
This role is based in a concrete plant that combines indoor and outdoor work areas. The environment is physically demanding and can be dirty, loud, dusty, and subject to hot and cold temperatures depending on the season. Employees handle reinforced concrete pipe and precast products, work around heavy machinery, and regularly use hand tools and power tools. The initial shift runs from 2:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for approximately the first six weeks. After this period, the schedule transitions to a start time between 4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., with the expectation of flexibility. Overtime is available and may range from 10 to 20 hours per week, including potential work on Fridays and Saturdays. Appropriate work attire for an industrial, concrete production environment is required, and uniforms are provided after 30 days. Steel-toe footwear is necessary for safety, supported by an annual steel-toe allowance.
