Job Description
As the Project Manager, you will oversee and manage construction projects to ensure their successful completion within scope, budget, and schedule. You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to coordinate resources, monitor progress, and resolve issues as they arise. Your role is crucial in delivering high-quality construction projects that meet client expectations and contribute to the success of the organization's construction initiatives in the Con West region.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project objectives, budget, and schedule.
- Help manage and mentor a team of Project Managers/Assistant Project Managers.
- Coordinate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure efficient project execution.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on track.
- Communicate regularly with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to provide updates on project status, address concerns, and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards, regulations, and procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and approve project deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and change orders, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage project finances, including tracking expenses, approving invoices, and monitoring project costs to ensure profitability.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, including mentoring and developing team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure work is being carried out according to specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Document daily activities, including work performed, materials used, and any incidents or accidents that occur on site.
Essential Skills
- A minimum of five (5) years of Federal construction management experience.
- Familiarity with Federal construction processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- OSHA 30-hour certification required.
- Active Construction Quality Management (CQM) certificate required with demonstrable Quality Control Management experience.
- Ability to help with scheduling utilizing Primavera P6.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficient in Primavera P6.
- Knowledge of construction industry regulations, codes, and standards.
- Mechanical Project Management experience.
- Ideally has previously worked at Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base.
Work Environment
The Project Manager will provide oversight on projects throughout Kings Bay Submarine Base in Kings Bay, GA. Ideally, candidates will be local or have plans to stay in the Kingsland, GA area. The position involves site inspections and collaboration with various stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory authorities.
