Job Title: Process Controls Engineer
Job Description
The Process Controls Engineer is responsible for overseeing all control systems within the LNG facility. This role involves collaborating with technicians and engineers to manage control system philosophies, architectures, and modify programming for PLCs and HMI applications.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and modify existing systems including Rockwell ControlLogix PLCs and WonderWare HMI applications.
- Implement controls changes in an operating environment, including graphics, logic, alarm setpoints, and tuning.
- Troubleshoot and solve performance issues related to control systems and WonderWare.
- Provide technical oversight for process control systems, safety instrumented systems, and data acquisition systems.
- Maintain control system documentation, such as Cause/Effect Diagrams, and software version control.
- Maintain and troubleshoot SCADA servers, switches, and computers on the controls network.
- Provide support for hardware and software maintenance associated with the Operator Training Simulator.
- Interface with vendors and suppliers to determine appropriate control system solutions and applications.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting industrial automation software.
- Ability to read and interpret logic diagrams, loop drawings, P&IDs, and other diagrams.
- Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids, and high/low pressure systems.
- 7+ years of experience troubleshooting controls-related issues in an operating plant environment, preferably LNG, pipeline, or petro-chemical facilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Must possess a valid driver's license and meet company insurability requirements.
- May be required to achieve and maintain certifications necessary to perform job duties.
Work Environment
The role may involve working in low-lit areas and requires travel depending on business needs. Availability for shift work is necessary, and the candidate must be prepared to respond to callouts and emergencies after regular business hours, including after dark, which may require carrying a communication device.
