Lab Technician (Entry Level)
Job Description
The primary role of a Lab Technician is to support laboratory operations by maintaining laboratory and supply storage areas, as well as equipment and instruments. The Lab Technician will utilize general lab methods, techniques, and equipment in compliance with quality assurance programs and standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve samples from Sample Control for analysis.
- Perform sample preparation tasks such as aliquoting samples, spiking and tracing samples, preparing reagents, bottling samples, and setting up liquid racks.
- Resolve discrepancies and anomalies to ensure proper sample labeling.
- Prepare general lab paperwork, including recording analysis results, tracking samples, and maintaining bench sheets and lab logbooks.
- Wash lab glassware to prepare for the next day's samples and stock lab supplies.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in laboratory and sample preparation techniques.
- Understanding of biology and chemistry principles.
- High School Diploma required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate Degree is a plus.
- Experience in quality assurance, microbiology, food chemistry, and environmental monitoring.
- Background in food safety, food science, and quality control.
- Consistent job tenure of at least 1 year is preferred.
- Achievements in extracurricular activities, internships, research, or jobs for new graduates are desirable.
- Experience from a food service background is advantageous.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tucker, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $17.00/hr.
