Job Title: Millwright

Job Description

Join a dynamic and growing company that specializes in agricultural construction, de-construction, and rigging. As a Millwright, you will be involved in dismantling grain equipment and building grain elevators and conveyors. You will also contribute to our custom fabrication shop, where we construct equipment for installation in processing plants. Your role will involve servicing local and national clients with a focus on troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble or erect steel structures for equipment.
  • Interpret and work from shop drawings.
  • Perform non-critical welding tasks.
  • Establish equipment or machinery center lines and elevations.
  • Conduct complex rigging operations.
  • Install equipment, machinery, or components with precision, including anchoring, leveling, and aligning.

Essential Skills (Preferred)

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools
  • Ability to perform welding, including stick and MIG welding
  • Blueprint reading and interpretation
  • Experience with fabrication, repair, and hydraulics
  • Pipe fitting and preventive maintenance

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of mechanical experience
  • Comfortable working from heights
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%

Work Environment

Work primarily takes place in agricultural processing plants, ethanol plants, or grain elevators, both indoors and outdoors. You will be part of a team, typically working with 4-5 other people under the guidance of a foreman or superintendent.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CEDAR RAPIDS, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $38.00/hr.
