Forklift Operator

Job Description

The Forklift Operator will operate an industrial forklift or reach truck to accomplish various materials handling assignments. This role involves a combination of tasks including receiving, filling, shipping, and inspecting orders accurately and in a timely manner. The operator will efficiently and safely load, unload, and convey materials to various locations including machines, loading docks, production floors, trucks, and storage areas.

Responsibilities

• Identify and transport requested materials to and from various locations.
• Obtain production schedules or shipping orders and transport raw materials, equipment, or processing materials accordingly.
• Understand machine loading capacity and loading schedule to ensure prompt and efficient delivery.
• Use protective materials and strapping equipment to secure loads; remove strapping and wrapping, and dispose of waste materials safely.
• Follow all company safety and food safety procedures.
• Report any material or transportation problems to the supervisor.
• Perform SAP related transactions.
• Perform other related duties as requested.

Essential Skills

• Demonstrated ability to safely operate reach trucks and other logistics equipment.
• Proficiency in driving High Lift, Standup, Sit-downs, Walkies, and Walkie Rider forklifts.
• Proficient with RF Scan gun.
• Basic proficiency in SAP.
• Ability to maneuver lifts in tight spaces.
• Perform physical inventory requests.
• Properly print and label SAP Tags.
• Cover Production Lines.
• Basic math, language, and reading skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with forklift, pallet jack, material handling, sit-down, unloading, shipping and receiving, order picking, and stand-up forklifts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Davenport, IA.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
