Maintenance Technician

As a Maintenance Technician, you will utilize your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will also have the opportunity to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, repair, and maintain material handling equipment, such as conveyors.
• Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures.
• Perform battery changes and preventive maintenance on batteries.
• Enter downtime data in the daily log and complete PM sheets.
• Manage work orders within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Demonstrate knowledge of basic electrical components.
• Troubleshoot and identify problems with equipment.
• Track and store the department's inventory, including spare parts.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience conducting quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
• 2+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment or automated conveyor systems and controls.
• 2+ years of blueprint and electrical schematic reading.
• 2+ years of knowledge in electrical and electronic principles.
• 1+ year experience in troubleshooting and diagnostics of material handling equipment systems.
• 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in Distribution, Logistics, Manufacturing, or Industrial industries performing maintenance on complex systems and industrial equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions of building operations.
• Experience with CMMS and MHE safety standards in accordance with OEM and safety standards.
• Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
• 2+ years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
• Experience working with PLC-based control systems.
• Experience with robotic operation and maintenance.
• Continuous improvement mindset.
• Willingness to learn and grow.

Work Environment

Work in a large distribution facility equipped with high-speed automation equipment and robotic components. Be prepared to walk 10,000 steps per day and handle weights up to 49 lbs. All candidates must be open to working any 10-hour shift. Performance is tracked by data and numbers, though micromanagement is avoided.

This is a Permanent position based out of Davenport, IA.

The pay range for this position is $27.60 - $27.60/hr.
