Job Title: Lab Technician
Job Description
As a Lab Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of our testing processes. You will be responsible for understanding and following Quality System documents relevant to your responsibilities, such as Quality Manuals, SOPs, and Methods. You are expected to adhere to quality measures that meet or exceed standards set by ISO/IEC, government regulatory requirements (cGMP, GLP), and company standards. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations is paramount.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate proficiency in at least one core method and conduct at least one other assigned method with no more than 25% supervision.
- Operate all required basic lab equipment within the department.
- Set up and weigh batches of samples.
- Perform timely and accurate analysis of samples to meet customer commitments, including sample preparation, using appropriate analysis methods and techniques, and applying appropriate data reduction.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related scientific field is strongly preferred.
- High School Diploma with previous lab experience is required if a Bachelor's degree is not held.
Work Environment
The facility is large with approximately 7 labs, focusing on nutritional testing for various clients across different industries. The lab environment is fast-paced, reflecting its production lab nature.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.30 - $21.70/hr.
