CAD Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated CAD Technician to maintain project schedules, provide progress reports, and collaborate with engineers and project managers. This role involves engaging in the design and drafting of engineering plans, revising or modifying drawings as needed, and performing calculations under specific instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain project schedules and provide regular progress reports.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to complete drafting tasks.
• Engage in the design and drafting of engineering plans.
• Revise or modify drawings as needed.
• Perform quantity calculations as directed.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings using CADD software from sketches or verbal instructions.
• Follow standard procedures for layering and drawing.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience with design software.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Relevant educational background is preferred.
• Experience with various engineering software such as OpenRoads is preferred.
• Experience in civil engineering design is preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience is preferred.

Work Environment

This role is primarily office-based with occasional field visits. The work takes place onsite in Urbandale or Cedar Rapids.
