Job Title: Lab Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding and following Quality System documents relevant to their duties, such as Quality Manual, SOPs, and Methods. The role requires adherence to quality measures to meet or exceed standards set by ISO/IEC, government regulations (cGMP, GLP), and company requirements. Additionally, the Lab Technician will ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate proficiency in at least one core method and ability to conduct at least one other assigned method with no more than 25% supervision.
- Operate all required basic lab equipment within the department.
- Set up batches of samples to weigh and accurately weigh samples.
- Perform timely and accurate analysis of samples to meet customer commitments, including preparing samples for analysis, using appropriate methods and techniques, and applying data reduction.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related scientific field is strongly preferred.
- High School Diploma and previous lab experience required if no Bachelor's degree is held.
Work Environment
The work environment consists of a large facility with roughly seven labs dedicated to nutritional testing for various clients in numerous industries. It is a production lab, meaning it is very fast-paced.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.30 - $21.70/hr.
