Job Title: Electronics Technician


Job Description

This role involves assisting in the testing, rebuilding, and manufacturing of power sources and lighting sources that fail in the field. You will spend approximately 65% of your time hands-on troubleshooting equipment and diagnosing issues, while the remaining 35% will be dedicated to writing reports and updating testing procedures.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in testing equipment and create testing protocols as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with electronic equipment.
  • Write reports and document necessary information for warranty needs.
  • Assist in changing schematics as required.
  • Utilize structured text such as C# or LabVIEW for data and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Help create new testing procedures.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting electronics.
  • Understanding of schematics and electronic engineering.
  • Experience with test equipment, particularly oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Ability to perform soldering and repairs on PCBs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree, though a Bachelor's is acceptable.
  • Experience in soldering and repairing equipment as needed.
  • Capability to manage up to 10 people long term, likely a year out.
  • Skill in troubleshooting electrical circuits on PCBs.

Work Environment

The work environment is a blend of electronic assembly production and R&D lab, where individuals have their own workstations consisting of benches, oscilloscopes, volt meters, and power supplies for troubleshooting and repair processes. A soldering station is available to change and replace failed components. The culture emphasizes strong support, flexibility for appointments, and an open atmosphere for sharing ideas and getting assistance. The role includes benefits such as affordable healthcare and dental, PTO based on years of service starting with 4 weeks total, and a 4% contribution to a 401k plan with profit sharing, which has been around 20% of salary for the last three years.
