Job Title: Electronics Technician


Job Description

The Electronics Technician role involves assisting in the testing, rebuilding, and manufacturing of power and lighting sources that fail in the field. This position requires hands-on troubleshooting of equipment and diagnosing issues for approximately 65% of the time, while the remaining 35% is dedicated to writing reports and updating testing procedures.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in testing of equipment.
  • Create testing protocols as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues.
  • Write reports and document as necessary for warranty needs.
  • Assist in changing of schematics as needed.
  • Utilize structured text such as C# or LabVIEW for data and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Help to create new testing procedures.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and schematic reading.
  • Experience with test equipment and electrical testing.
  • Hands-on ability within testing of electronics capabilities.
  • Familiarity with using an oscilloscope and multimeter.
  • Soldering skills and ability to repair PCB.
  • Minimum Associates degree; Bachelor’s degree is acceptable.
  • 5 years of experience with electrical/electronic testing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to manage up to 10 people long term.
  • Experience in troubleshooting electrical circuits on PCB.

Work Environment

The work environment consists of individual workstations equipped with benches, oscilloscopes, volt meters, and power supplies for troubleshooting and repair processes. There is a soldering station available for changing and replacing failed components. The setting combines elements of an electronic assembly production environment and an R&D lab, fostering a collaborative culture where ideas and suggestions are encouraged. The dress code is informal, and there is flexibility for appointments and schedule adjustments. Benefits include affordable healthcare and dental, PTO based on years of service starting with 4 weeks total, a 4% contribution on 401k, and profit-sharing which has averaged around 20% of salary over the last three years.
