We are seeking a motivated and innovative Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will focus on enhancing product designs to improve reliability, efficiency, and manufacturability using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. You will work closely with various teams, including production, service, and engineering, to implement design changes and ensure high-quality product standards.
Responsibilities- Respond to enhancement requests from production, service, and engineering teams.
- Identify and implement design modifications to improve reliability, efficiency, and manufacturability.
- Use SolidWorks and AutoCAD to create, modify, and validate design changes.
- Collaborate with product design teams on major enhancements.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for updated components or materials.
- Manage supplier transitions to maintain inventory and production schedules.
- Assist in deploying design changes on the manufacturing floor.
- Provide technical guidance to production staff and verify process compliance.
- Prepare and manage Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
- Maintain accurate records in BOM, PDM, and related systems.
- Oversee the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process for timely execution.
- Respond to field requests for product improvements and follow up on issues.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Experience with operating and/or maintenance of off-road heavy equipment/ag equipment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering.
- Experience with sheet metal, hydraulics, FEA, engineering changes, and GD&T.
- 6+ months of SolidWorks design experience.
You will work in a cubicle-style environment with your direct team. Occasionally, you will go out on the manufacturing floor and hold meetings in other plants. The work hours are Monday through Friday, with a start time between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM. The dress code is flexible, allowing jeans and a polo, but steel-toed boots are required.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Pella, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $31.25 - $31.25/hr.
