Job Title: Design Engineer


Job Description

As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for examining requests from production to identify necessary changes. You will utilize Solidworks and Autocad to implement design alterations and collaborate with product design teams on significant changes. Additionally, you will manage vendor relationships and switch suppliers to support production inventory. You will also assist in executing changes on the production floor and ensure adherence to processes by following up with staff. Your role will include making engineering change orders within BOM and PDM systems.


Responsibilities

  • Examine requests from production to identify design changes.
  • Utilize Solidworks and Autocad for design alterations.
  • Collaborate with product design teams on large changes.
  • Contact vendors and switch suppliers to support production inventory.
  • Assist in implementing changes on the production floor.
  • Follow up with staff to ensure process adherence.
  • Make engineering change orders within BOM and PDM systems.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in Solidworks and Autocad.
  • Experience as a Design Engineer.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment, hydraulics, and mechanical design.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience with Solidworks, including educational experience.
  • 6+ months experience in Mobile Equipment Manufacturing.

Work Environment

You will work in a cubicle-style environment alongside your direct team, with occasional visits to the production floor and meetings in other plants. The position currently offers part remote work due to the pandemic, requiring a reliable internet connection. The dress code is casual, with jeans and a polo acceptable, but steel-toed boots are necessary. Working hours are Monday to Friday, starting between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM.
