Job Description
This role supports a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution operation by performing packaging, bottling, and order-building tasks on the production floor. You will rotate between packaging and filling areas, working with machinery, conveyors, and pallet jacks to prepare products for shipment while maintaining quality, safety, and accuracy standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform packaging and bottling tasks, including filling bottles with product and ensuring accurate counts for each production run.
- Package finished bottles into boxes, including building boxes, loading bottles into boxes based on counts and orders, and wrapping, taping, and staging boxes for shipment.
- Add bottles and materials to machinery and conveyors to keep production lines running smoothly and efficiently.
- Conduct visual inspections of products and packaging to verify quality, correct labeling, and adherence to production specifications.
- Gather products and materials from inventory to support packaging and bottling operations, including weighing and staging items as needed.
- Stage and organize pails and buckets for filling operations, ensuring correct placement and readiness for production.
- Hand-fill product into bins, pails, and buckets, including filling with dry goods, and ensure containers are properly filled and sealed.
- Tape and seal pails, buckets, and other containers, ensuring they are secure and ready for labeling and shipment.
- Print labels and apply them accurately to orders, ensuring proper identification and traceability of all products.
- Stage and palletize pails, buckets, and other packaged products, including wrapping pallets and preparing them for shipping.
- Move pallets using pallet jacks in a safe and controlled manner to support staging, storage, and shipping activities.
- Stage orders for shipping, verify finished orders against documentation, and weigh products to confirm accuracy.
- Follow all safety procedures, including the use of steel-toe footwear and respirators when required, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Work collaboratively with team members across different departments and around machinery and conveyors to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Adapt to a faster-paced work environment and support continuous improvement efforts on the production floor.
Essential Skills
- Previous manufacturing or production experience, preferably in packaging, bottling, or line work.
- Proven ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding general labor tasks throughout the shift.
- Experience with packaging processes, including wrapping, staging, palletizing, and labeling products.
- Hands-on experience with bottling or filling operations in a faster-paced work environment.
- Ability to safely operate pallet jacks to move and stage pallets and materials.
- Forklift experience with an active certification obtained within the last 4 years.
- Strong attention to detail for verifying production runs, checking products, and confirming finished orders.
- Basic computer or CPU skills to support tasks such as printing labels and verifying orders.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively as part of a production team.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability and willingness to wear steel-toe footwear and respirators when required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working around machinery and conveyors in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Experience in staging orders for shipping and verifying order accuracy and weights.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement environments and openness to learning new processes and equipment.
- Ability to transition into more advanced operator roles over time, such as press operator, blender, or filler operator.
- Reliability, strong work ethic, and consistency in attendance and performance.
- Comfort working in a structured, safety-focused production setting with defined procedures.

Work Environment
The role is based in a smaller, well-organized manufacturing facility that is actively focused on continuous improvement. The warehouse and production floor are kept clean, with products and materials flowing efficiently through different departments. You will work around machinery, conveyors, and various packaging and filling equipment, and regularly use pallet jacks and forklifts. The position follows a first-shift schedule, typically from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The work is fast-paced and physically demanding, involving heavy lifting, standing, and moving throughout the shift. Steel-toe footwear is required, and respirators are worn occasionally as needed for specific tasks. You will work closely with a team-oriented group of production and warehouse staff and receive training on equipment, processes, and safety procedures to perform your duties effectively.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alsip, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
