Job Description
The Janitor maintains a clean, safe, and orderly facility by performing daily cleaning, sanitizing, and general upkeep of all areas. This role works a Monday–Friday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and supports both routine and special cleaning needs to ensure a welcoming environment for all occupants.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize all areas of the facility, including workout floors, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors and surfaces to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
- Empty trash and recycling bins regularly and ensure waste is disposed of properly.
- Clean mirrors, windows, and glass surfaces to keep them streak-free and presentable.
- Refill restroom supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other consumables as needed.
- Follow proper cleaning and safety procedures, including the correct use, storage, and handling of cleaning chemicals.
- Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards promptly to management so they can be addressed quickly.
- Support special cleaning needs for events, peak hours, or specific projects as requested.
- Perform general labor tasks related to facility cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, and trash removal throughout the day.
- Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in an organized and functional condition.
Essential Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a consistent commitment to cleanliness and sanitation.
- Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing time effectively.
- Understanding of basic cleaning techniques and safety practices, including safe use of cleaning chemicals.
- Willingness to work early mornings and adjust to occasional schedule changes, including evenings or weekends if needed.
- Practical experience with janitorial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and sanitizing surfaces.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience in janitorial, custodial, or general labor roles is beneficial.
- Comfort working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers regarding maintenance or safety concerns.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arlington Heights, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
