Job Title: Electrical Machine Builder

Job Description

Join our 1st shift Electrical Build Group as an Electrical Machine Builder, where you will have the opportunity to build automated machinery. This is a long-term position with a focus on in-house machinery construction in Buffalo Grove, followed by installation at customer locations. The role requires occasional travel, approximately 10-20%, for installations.

Responsibilities

  • Wire electrical panels for automated equipment using schematics and drawings
  • Power-up and test wiring for new project builds; troubleshoot issues and perform timely rework
  • Debug complex electrical systems, improve machine performance, and reassemble equipment on site
  • Communicate areas for improvement, red-line drawings, and meet strict deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Travel nationwide (up to 25%) and internationally for project installations and service
  • Build custom panels based on electrical schematics.
  • Perform machine wiring of automated machinery, known as 'field-point I/O'.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics accurately.
  • Construct panels according to strict electrical schematics, deciding rack placements and spacing.
  • Wire machines, perform electrical assembly, and build electrical panels.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in building machinery and/or wiring panels.
  • Proficiency reading schematics, identifying design errors, and red-lining drawings
  • Expertise in mounting/wiring panel/safety devices with attention to detail
  • Strong time management and milestone focus

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience as a panel wirer, machine builder, or electrician.
  • Familiarity with schematic and wiring processes.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing environment with about 50 employees at this location. It involves hands-on work on the production floor. Employees must be open to travel for machinery installation at customer sites, which will come into effect after about 6 months of in-house training and experience.

This is a Permanent position based out of Buffalo Grove, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
