Job Description
The Material Handler will play a crucial role in maintaining control over various types of inventories, including raw materials, subassemblies, and finished goods. This position involves conducting physical inventory counts, reconciling results with inventory records, ensuring correct quantities in shipments, and conducting analyses to coordinate with production and sales requirements.
Responsibilities
- Understand department activity requirements and follow SOPs, WI, site, and regional requirements.
- Ensure accurate execution of transactions related to the area of assignment to maintain inventory accuracy at the site.
- Actively participate in or lead inventory-related projects at the site to suggest initiatives to improve inventory controls reporting and objectives.
- Utilize WMS and JDE systems proficiently to report material availability problems.
- Load and unload trucks using pallet jacks and RF scan guns to scan products in and out.
- Perform basic shipping duties including cycle counts to match current inventory.
- Stage, check in products into the system, and put inventory away.
- Pull orders and assemble carts for production, delivering to areas as needed.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of experience in shipping and receiving.
- Experience with freight and full container/dedicated trailer handling for at least 1 year.
- Excellent computer skills, including warehouse systems, RF scan guns, and ability to perform transactions and multi-task across various computer systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to sit and/or stand for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to frequently reach at waist and occasionally above head.
- Capability to carry up to 10lbs and lift up to 45lbs.
- Proficiency with basic hand tools.
- Ability to frequently push, pull, bend, kneel, and/or stoop.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buffalo Grove, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
