Job Title: Set-Up Operator (Cleanroom)
Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Set-Up Operator, where you will be responsible for setting up and operating pouch and flat bags machines in a cleanroom environment. This role is for the 2nd shift, working from 5pm to 5:30am on a rotating schedule, excluding Sundays. As a key player in our production team, you will ensure that our machines operate efficiently and that our products meet the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform set-up and changeover of pouch and flat bags machines according to product specifications and production schedules.
- Ensure all machine parameters are correctly configured for each production run, including adjustments for size, sealing, cutting, and other specifications.
- Verify that materials and components required for the set-up are available and meet quality standards.
- Operate pouch and flat bags machines during production runs, ensuring consistent quality and efficiency.
- Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout the production process.
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production, making necessary adjustments to maintain optimal performance.
- Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Perform minor repairs and adjustments as needed, and report any major issues to the maintenance team.
- Ensure the work area is clean and organized, adhering to cleanroom standards.
- Maintain accurate records of machine set-up parameters, production runs, and any issues encountered.
- Complete required documentation for production batches, including quality checks and maintenance logs.
- Communicate with supervisors and other team members about the status of production runs and any issues that need attention.
- Work closely with other operators, technicians, and supervisors to ensure smooth production operations.
- Assist in training new operators on machine set-up and operation procedures.
- Provide support and guidance to team members to promote a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet specified standards.
- Make adjustments as necessary to maintain product quality throughout the production run.
- Report any quality issues to the quality control team and implement corrective actions as directed.
Essential Skills
- Previous experience in set-up and operation of pouch and flat bags machines.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of converting processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and production schedules.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment, following strict cleaning and safety procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Availability to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to grasp and understand product layout sheets and how to read artwork.
- Understanding of the difference between good and bad print based on provided materials: artwork, PLS, WO, separations, and color master folder.
- Clear understanding of the quality checklist and its importance.
- Familiarity with the Spectro densitometer.
- Understanding of the company's digital workflow.
- Ability to perform, teach, and direct the essential functions of all press positions.
- Experience with Wide Web Flexographic Printing.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buffalo Grove, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
