R&D Lab Technician
Join a dynamic team focused on electronics development, working in a fast-paced R&D environment where prototypes are churned through rapidly to determine which ones advance to production. The role involves assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of prototype electronics and electromechanical assemblies, primarily in a lab setting.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and test prototype electronics and electromechanical assemblies.
- Perform PCBA soldering, including through hole and surface mount techniques.
- Conduct wiring and wire harness assembly.
- Read and interpret schematics, bill of materials, and assembly instructions.
- Manage and maintain an electronics lab, providing occasional support in an R&D test lab.
- Support internal and external product development projects.
- Troubleshoot PCB's to component level and perform testing.
Essential Skills
- 3-10 years of experience in electronics or electromechanical
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
- Hands-on experience, ideally with R&D/NPD.
- PCBA soldering skills, both through hole and surface mount.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- LabView programming and data acquisition experience.
- Data analysis capabilities.
- Troubleshooting skills at the component level.
- BS or Associates degree.
Work Environment
The role is primarily lab-based but may require occasional work on the production floor. The team consists of mechanical, software, and hardware engineers, with a need for an electrical specialist.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carol Stream, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
