As a Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and analyzing structural components for various projects. You will report directly to the Senior Project Manager and Principal, collaborating closely with geotechnical, architectural, and MEP project members to successfully complete assignments. Your expertise will be critical in developing structural design calculations, conducting structural analysis and research, preparing specifications, and drafting structural drawings. You will apply ACI, AISC, and IBC building codes as well as PCI and PTI Design Guidelines to ensure the integrity and safety of foundations, superstructures, and related building components. You may also assist with site visits and review testing, inspection, and field reports, working alongside the Senior Structural Engineer to compile comprehensive structural research and analysis reports.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with geotechnical, architectural, and MEP project members to complete projects.
- Develop structural design calculations, structural analysis/research, specifications, and structural drawings.
- Apply ACI, AISC, and IBC building codes, PCI & PTI Design Guidelines to design foundations, superstructures, and related building components.
- Assist with site visits and review testing, inspection, and field reports.
- Work with the Senior Structural Engineer to provide structural research and analysis reports.
- Proficiency in Structural Engineering and Revit.
- Experience with construction documentation and structural design.
- Knowledge of civil engineering and AutoCAD.
- Strong ability in structural analysis, concrete, and structural steel.
- Hold an EIT certification and be on track towards PE; SE is a plus.
- At least 2 years of post-graduate structural experience.
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- Experience working on parking structures is preferred; experience in commercial, healthcare, industrial, and utilities sectors is transferrable.
- Knowledge of ACI, AISC, and IBC building codes, PCI & PTI Design Guidelines.
- Experience with wind/seismic analysis, spread footing, and deep and shallow retention walls.
- Experience with concrete including precast, conventional, and post-tensioned cast-in-place, structural steel, and masonry.
The position is based in The Loop, with an in-office preference initially, allowing flexibility once established. The Chicago office comprises 18 team members spread across three teams: Architects (New Design), Restoration, and Studies/Research. Standard working hours are from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility to accommodate early starts or late finishes. Employees will be provided with a desktop computer and can borrow laptops for travel. Projects are located throughout the U.S., with the opportunity to project share across offices during slower periods.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
