Immediate Hirring For Warehouse Worker – Forklift (2nd Shift, East Moline)
Job Description
This role supports a high-volume container management and racking warehouse, handling incoming and outgoing racks, totes, and large plastic containers. You will operate a forklift, work on the production floor, and assist with washing, sorting, staging, scanning, and basic repair of containers to keep materials flowing safely and efficiently through the facility.
Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift safely for the majority of the shift to load and unload trucks and move racks, totes, and containers throughout the warehouse.
- Read and interpret shipping paperwork to verify that the correct containers are loaded, unloaded, and shipped to the appropriate destinations.
- Work in the washing area to load and unload plastic totes into and out of the washing machine, ensuring proper cleaning of containers.
- Sort, stage, and scan totes and racks using a hand scanner to accurately process inbound and outbound materials.
- Work in process lanes on the inbound floor to remove manufacturer tags from containers and racks and prepare them for further processing.
- Stand for the duration of the shift while performing tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, staging, scanning, and light repair work.
- Perform basic repairs on large plastic containers ranging in size from approximately 2x2 to 8x8 feet using hand drills and screwdrivers.
- Handle containers that arrive dirty, ensure they move through the cleaning process, and prepare them for shipment on the outbound side.
- Follow established safety procedures and warehouse guidelines while operating equipment and performing all assigned tasks.
- Work overtime as needed, including up to 10 additional hours and occasional Saturday shifts, to meet production and shipping demands.
Essential Skills
- At least 6 months of recent labor or forklift experience in a warehouse, production, or similar environment.
- Proven ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently, including driving forward and backward through tight spaces.
- Ability to pass a forklift skills test that includes driving through cones and lifting, raising, and setting down pallets accurately.
- Experience with basic shipping and receiving activities such as loading, unloading, and moving materials.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed during loading, unloading, and material handling tasks.
- Ability to stand on your feet for the entire shift while performing repetitive warehouse and production duties.
- Willingness and ability to work up to 10 hours of overtime when required.
- Availability to work on Saturdays as part of the regular schedule when business needs require.

Work Environment
The position is based in a warehouse environment focused on container management and racking, with work performed primarily on the 2nd shift at the East Moline facility. The work involves frequent bending, standing for the entire shift, and lifting up to 50 pounds. You will regularly use forklifts, hand scanners, washing machines for plastic totes, and basic hand tools such as drills and screwdrivers. The environment is fast-paced and structured around shipping and receiving schedules, with occasional overtime and Saturday work to meet demand. Appropriate work attire suitable for a warehouse setting is required, and adherence to all safety guidelines and equipment procedures is expected.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of East Moline, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
