Job Title: Quality Control TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control Technician responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality testing in our production processes. The role involves verifying label accuracy in line with FDA regulations and conducting various tests such as fill weight, lot codes, expiration dates, and more. This position requires submission of samples to the QC Chemistry and QC Microbiology labs for testing on an hourly basis, following the lab schedule. Additionally, you will manage paperwork, submit reports, and perform batch record reviews in our FDA-regulated facility.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-process quality testing to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Verify label accuracy according to FDA regulations.
  • Perform tests for fill weight, lot codes, expiration dates, and other quality metrics.
  • Submit samples to QC labs for testing and follow the lab schedule.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and submit reports, including weight averages and batch records.
  • Monitor for QC issues and non-conforming products, with the authority to stop production if necessary.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and investigations as part of the team.
Essential Skills
  • Previous experience in Quality Control, particularly in a GMP environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors.
  • Excellent math skills, with the ability to perform calculations and percentages.
  • Ability to work independently and make judgment calls.
  • Effective teamwork skills within a large Quality Control team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing quality, preferably in the food, personal care, or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field is preferred for career advancement.
  • Opportunity to learn GMP, GDP, and FDA regulations.
Work Environment

This role operates within a GMP FDA-regulated production environment. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 2nd shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with overtime every other Saturday. Training will be provided on the 1st shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $21.00/hr.
