Job Title: Off Shift CNC Operator

Job Description

As a CNC Operator, you will work independently on designated machines or workstations. Your role involves producing precision parts from start to finish without relying on a team-based workflow, requiring strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage production tasks solo.

Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned CNC or manual machining equipment independently.
  • Set up, run, and monitor machine cycles to produce parts to specification.
  • Perform in-process inspections using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Maintain accurate production records and report any issues.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure quality and consistency of finished parts.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area.

Essential Skills

  • Previous CNC machine operating experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in using measuring tools like micrometers and calipers.
  • Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in CNC machining or manufacturing is preferred.

Work Environment

You will work in a fast-paced precision machining facility during the 2nd shift from 2pm to 10:30pm, totaling 40 hours per week, with the possibility of overtime as needed. The environment includes exposure to heat, noise, and industrial equipment. The facility is a family-owned business established in 1987, featuring a 130,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility located on 10 acres in Union, Illinois. The facility operates 24/7 with three shifts and houses over 90 pieces of manufacturing equipment, including Matsuura and Makino machining centers. Our flexible machining systems allow efficient production of both small and large orders. The company serves diverse markets such as hydraulics, agriculture, medical, and more. We are ITAR compliant and registered as a Department of Defense contractor with federal government registrations and certifications.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
