Role Overview
We are seeking a Manual Machinist to fabricate, modify, and repair precision components for our industrial equipment lines. You will be responsible for operating traditional machine shop tools to create parts from blueprints and sketches.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines (Bridgeport-style), drill presses, and grinders.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings and engineering sketches to determine dimensions and tolerances.
- Precision Measurement: Use micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure all parts meet exact specifications.
- Material Handling: Work primarily with stainless steel and other metals common in food-grade manufacturing.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with the fabrication and engineering teams to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of manual machining experience, preferably in a "job shop" or custom manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with manual mills and lathes. Experience with stainless steel fabrication is a plus.
- Detail-Oriented: Ability to maintain tight tolerances and perform self-inspections on finished work.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
This is a Permanent position based out of FRANKFORT, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
