Job Description: Process Engineer

This role involves a dynamic blend of 65% on-the-floor activities and 35% office-based tasks. The primary objective is to analyze and review current manufacturing and test methods, equipment, and engineering design to enhance processes and achieve cost reduction savings. The position also includes assisting in the procurement of capital equipment and programming mills and lathes using CAM software.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and review current manufacturing and test methods to improve processes.
• Assist in purchasing capital equipment as needed.
• Program mills and lathes using CAM software.
• Interpret manufacturing-related data and assist shop personnel in solving tooling and process method problems.
• Develop processes and initiate tool designs to support cost-effective quality manufacturing.
• Provide specifications for assembly and test equipment designs.

Essential Skills

• Associate degree in engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in process engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in CNC programming with any software, preferably CAM.
• Strong understanding of 8D problem-solving and Lean Manufacturing.
• Ability to work closely with factory personnel and build strong rapport.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Process FMEA is a plus.
• Gauging experience is a plus.
• Ability to wear multiple hats, including working with quality, capital expenditures, and manufacturing/process engineering.
