We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to take on the role of 1st Shift Cell Lead. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the production process, ensuring quality standards are met, and guiding a team to maintain high production efficiency and standards.
Responsibilities- Complete first piece inspection of product to ensure it meets quality standards and continually monitor quality during production.
- Motivate team members to enhance production quantity and maintain high production standards.
- Set the standards for the team members and guide them on what is expected for the day.
- Inspect finished orders and verify that all criteria are met in accordance with the blueprint.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, while finding ways to improve.
- Evaluate tools and equipment to ensure they are working properly and troubleshoot malfunctions. Advise the Production Cell Supervisor of all equipment problems.
- Train new employees and existing team members in equipment operation, manufacturing processes, and safety rules and procedures.
- Participate in daily manufacturing meetings to discuss production needs with other cells.
- Update and monitor Gemba boards daily, identify concerns, and provide solutions to the Production Cell Supervisor.
- Assist with daily work by setting up and operating machinery, guiding team members, and monitoring and adjusting machinery as needed.
- Order all routine supplies to ensure efficient operation of the cell.
- Maintain accurate work records.
- Monitor team members’ performance and assist the Production Cell Supervisor with performance appraisals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 2-3+ years of production lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience overseeing 4-5+ people.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints/drawings.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to organize and plan workload proactively.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing warehouse environment.
- Ability to make informed decisions regarding production needs.
- Experience with 5S or other lean manufacturing principles.
- Bi-lingual skills are a plus.

Work EnvironmentWork is performed in a shop environment, with exposure to elements such as noise and dust. The position requires continuous standing, moving, and reaching, with frequent walking, bending, lifting, and carrying items. Occasionally, lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs is required.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Grayslake, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
