Job Title: WelderJob Description

Join our team as a Welder, working the 1st shift from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. Occasionally, overtime may be required on Fridays and weekends, although not frequently. In this role, you will assist in a machine shop environment, including tasks like grinding and parts running, while focusing on welding with MIG and Fluxcore techniques on thicker gauge steel.

Responsibilities
  • Operate as a machine shop helper, assisting with grinding and parts running.
  • Perform welding tasks using MIG and Fluxcore techniques on thicker gauge steel.
  • Work with various materials such as stainless steel and thicker gauge steel.
  • Participate in fabrication and production tasks within the machine shop.
  • Utilize hand tools and read blueprints to build and assemble machine components.
  • Contribute to tank and pipe welding projects.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in grinding, production, and fabrication.
  • Proficiency in MIG and Fluxcore welding techniques.
  • Ability to work with thicker gauge steel and stainless steel.
  • Familiarity with machine building and general labor tasks.
  • Blueprint reading skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in a machine shop environment.

Work Environment

Experience working in an 'old school' machine shop environment with older manual machinery, such as brake presses and roll presses.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gurnee, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
