Job Title: R&D Systems Engineer
The R&D Systems Engineer supports the development and testing of medical devices by applying fundamental engineering principles to system- and subsystem-level design, requirements, and verification. This role offers hands-on experience in a collaborative R&D environment and is ideal for an early‑career engineer looking to grow within a global medical device organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Support system and subsystem requirements for electromechanical hardware, software, disposables, and labeling
- Participate in systems engineering activities including requirements management, risk management, usability engineering, and V&V
- Develop and execute test methods, protocols, and studies to evaluate design concepts and requirements
- Perform verification, validation, integration, and exploratory testing of medical devices and equipment
- Maintain traceability between test results and system requirements
- Set up and troubleshoot test fixtures, lab environments, and test articles
- Prepare test materials (including biologic or blood‑based materials when applicable) and document results per GDP
- Analyze data, generate technical documentation, and support root cause investigations
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and learn through mentorship
- Support compliance with quality, safety, and company procedures
This is a Contract position based out of Lake Zurich, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $34.00 - $36.00/hr.
