Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for a 2nd shift position with flexible hours, typically between Noon and 3 PM. This role requires 2-3 years of maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Repair machinery, including electro-mechanical equipment, motion controls, motors, pneumatic systems, and pumps.
  • Ensure efficient operation of machinery and support equipment, including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Locate sources of issues by observing equipment in operation, troubleshooting for issues, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Assist with the maintenance of inventory records and replenishment of machine parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
  • Work safely by abiding by and promoting established safety policies and procedures, and identifying and following up on unsafe conditions.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to think through the mechanical and electrical aspects of machinery operations and decision-making.
  • Capability to read electrical and mechanical drawings for troubleshooting electromechanical systems.
  • Effective time management skills to meet deadlines on multiple long- and short-term projects.
  • Communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with a diverse group of people and personalities.
  • Ability to provide high levels of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries of internal customers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school education required.
  • 2+ years of related experience, preferably in industrial machinery maintenance.
  • Must be open to off-schedule calls and available for overtime.
  • PLC and HMI literacy preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and quality systems, CMMS (MVP one) is a plus.

Work Environment

This role involves working on a 2nd shift with flexible hours, typically between Noon and 3 PM. The work environment requires adherence to established safety policies and involves interaction with various mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Be prepared for off-schedule calls and overtime as needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mundelein, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
